Lost in the right place

Ian from Belfast tells us about getting on the wrong train after the Xplore weekend.
After rushing to the station to grab our train, getting on the wrong one and missing a flight, Stephen and I ended up in Manchester in the rain. We had arranged to stay with a friend, but decided against it, realising the opportunity we had to share Christ with the people of Manchester (which had a huge homeless population) and, of course, make a trip to Old Trafford.
So what we had originally thought was an annoyance, actually turned into a huge blessing. We got on that wrong train for a reason. We had the privilege of praying with a number of people on the streets, receiving words for some and just being an ear to listen to the stories of others. From people losing their jobs, being forced to live on the streets to a woman being beaten with shovels to within an inch of her life, God just set up encounters one after another just because he loves his children and wants them to know that. I know God challenged my attitudes that night.
